Leaked Messages from 9/11 Posted Online
Posted by VickyC on November 26th, 2009
I didn’t read through everything, but the majority of it seems to be the authorities communicating. Wikileaks – the site responsible for posting all of the messages online – states that the messages are from “text pager intercepts… Text pagers are usually carried by persons operating in an official capacity”. According to Wikileaks, the posted messages range from “the Pentagon, FBI, FEMA, NYPD to the World Trade Centre Computers”. One of the messages told the recipient to use radio communication as the cell grids were jammed. Several are just phone messages – one which made me laugh was to call a gentleman from “Burk Dorf, Goodman”… umm… I think you mean Bergdorf Goodman? haha. Hope you didn’t lose your job over that!
There are also messages alluding to Air Force One and President Bush’s daughters being safe – both messages use coded names.
I’ll put the link at the bottom for Wikileaks and CNN… What do you think about this leak? I think its ridiculous. On CNN they reported that a spokesman from Wikileaks said: “I fully understand this this is very emotional material, but this does not mean that this is not part of our historic record, and from the publishing perspective of the Wikileaks perspective, that is what counts. We are helping to maintain an uncensorable part of this day’s record in more detail than has ever been provided before.”
Ok… maybe – in terms of getting a more in-depth look at the scramble that the many departments of the US government made on that day. These messages certainly do convey the pain and fear of the people who had to experience the horror of not knowing if their loved ones were safe… I don’t know how this would make me feel, having all this information posted everywhere – especially if I would have lost a family member in the attacks. I mean, it was 9 years ago. I’m sure that people just want to move on and let their wounds heal, instead of having things like this thrown in their faces every so often. Like the 9/11 movie – Completely unnecessary.
According to reports on BBC.co.uk, the messages were submitted to Wikileaks anonymously a few weeks ago.
I think the general view of most people is that they should not be posted online. And I agree. Here are some unedited comments that I found:
CNN: JRockH808 – i cant even read these, i’m getting PTSD again just trying to read them.
CNN: JRockH808 – i also wanted to add how sad it is we judge this tragedy by the number of people that were killed. We so easily forget those that are still suffering!
CNN: RichyFL – Yeah the terrorist really helped the government to do an end run around the 4th admendment of the US Constitution with the aide of the press didn’t they. I can see the messages from governemental agencies being public domain but not private ones. We are becoming more and more of a controlled nation rather than a free one with equality for all.
Wired.com: Michael Hampton – Who the hell is intercepting and archiving alpha pager traffic? In more than one city, even?
Wired.com: baywatersport – I like how there are so many real phone numbers. Those dudes are gonna be pissed. [I concur]
That’s definitely another point that I wanted to make. There is a LOT of personal info included in those messages. Email address, phone numbers, names etc., and they’re just throwing this all over the internet. I would definitely be super mad if it was my name and number all over the web. Who’d have thought that after 100 years of the telephone, that we’d be in a world where pretty much every piece of communication can be hacked, copied or listened into… What a creepy and voyeuristic world we live in!!
Well, here are some links for you to check – I’m actually NOT going to put the link for Wikileaks, because I don’t think its right that they posted all this stuff online – especially the really personal messages:
CNN.com – Web site posts what it says are 500,000 messages from 9/11
News.BBC.co.uk – Website Wikileaks publishes “9/11 messages”
Wired.com – Wikileaks says it has half-a-million 9/11 pager messages

You can go to the bank on the fact that the end is very nigh for 911 liars, stalkers, slanderers.
As for those who say that it’s not appropriate to release personal messages that were texted on 911…. People deserve the truth… What is not right [much less appropriate] is the continual lies and slander that has gone on for years.
Karma can be a b!tch. Justice is coming and those who deserve their “just desserts” will be finally getting them.
