As of today, because of some court ruling, Mininova.org have sadly taken their platform offline. I quote: “According to the verdict we have to prevent uploads of torrents to Mininova that refer to certain titles or to similar-looking titles” – basically they are removing all of the content that infringes copyright laws. So kids, this means that you have to find another place to download all your mp3s and movies from.

According to the entry on Mininova’s blog, they have been trying for several months to filter their content, but have been unable to find anything that works 100%.

However, Mininova said it is definitely considering an appeal to the ruling, as they are such a major player in the torrent world. But for now, thepiratebay and btjunkie are still up and running…..

This will most likely come as good news for independent artists… And there are some pretty cool documentaries on there. I also found a translated copy of The Iliad in e-book form, the Karl Marx & Friedrich Engels collection, and Isaac Newton’s Principia. Could be useful for any of you who are in school.. Might save you a trip to the library :D
