Design Week: Day 6 – Finished Cowl Wrap
Posted by VickyC on March 17th, 2012What a fabulous Knit and Crochet Design Week this has been. I’m pleasantly surprised that I was able to post for 6 consecutive days.. AND that I actually managed to finish my crochet project! The buttons have been attached, the ends have been hidden and I absolutely love it!
Ok, enough typing. It’s time for some pictures, don’t you think?

I love it. So this is one way of buttoning it, with quite a wide neck opening.
This is another way of buttoning it. The wrap is buttoned more tightly around my chest and on more of an angle, with less of a collar on the cowl.
I think I prefer it buttoned this way. But the beauty of using double crochet stitches for this design means that I can use ANY gap between stitches as a button hole – which is awesome.
I wish I had a form to use for these pictures. It would have made my life much easier.. My boyfriend was far too impatient to wait around for me to fiddle with the buttons and making sure that the cowl was perfectly cowly so that he could take more pictures. *grumble*!
This week has been tremendously fun. I’ve met a lot of lovely and talented people and have picked up many many new crochet techniques
I cannot wait for next year’s Knit and Crochet Design Week, as Stacey has expressed her desire to make this event an annual thing.

Wow–this turned out beautifully!! Love that’s there’s more than one way to wear it. Great work!
Thank you so much, Beth!

Thanks Brea
I wasn’t so sure at first, but I think they’re awesome.. and just the right size!
Your cowl turned out great. You did a fantastic job. Love the buttons.
Thank you
I’m thinking about changing the spacing for the bubttons, as I have 4 buttons, and only used 3 for this.. We will see!
